''Some guy with a video camera followed Sarah and me from the park - *chased* us, actually. Talk about scary. But I think we may have scared him more, or Sarah did, anyway… he dropped his wallet when he ran away from us. I'm scared we might be in trouble, and I'm not sure what to do.''

He was a police officer until about six years ago, when SOMETHING happened. Something bad enough he considers it a "sin". Something that may have caused him to turn over a new leaf, considering he's been a recovering alcoholic for 1888 days as of March, which would be May 1st, 2003. He and his ex-wife Patricia got divorced the same day. He has a son.
During the course of his investigations, he befriended a hacker who goes by the nickname "Novak". In the course of his investigations, Surry tends to go to extremes to prove the dangers of internet use to parents and children, and has taken it as a personal campaign of sorts. He even sent out a mass mailing on internet safety. (Mass mailing, you say?) His company, however, engages in a variety of investigations. Parents, for instance, can hire him to keep an eye on their kids to suss out suspicious behavior to keep them safe.
